Maria Fominykh is Russian famous player, learned to play chess at age of seven.
She is two-time winner of Russian youth chess championship : in 2001, in the U14 girls age group, and in 2003, in the U16 girls age group.
Maria Fominykh represented Russia in many championships and achieved many medals.
In 2009 she was awarded the (WIM) title and received the (WGM) title eight years later.
Maria Fominykh is journalist by the profession.
She has directed several chess broadcasts on various Russian TV channels.
